About TLC Preschool & Child Care

 TLC Preschool & Child Care is a mission of Trinity Lutheran Church, serving the Findlay area and surrounding communities. It was first established in 1997 as a Latchkey before and after school program. Over the years, the program expanded to include all day care, a preschool program and toddler care. 

In March of 2009 the program got a 2 star rating from the state of Ohio, which has helped the program exceed and provide quality care for the children involved in the program.

TLC has two fenced-in play areas, a movie theatre room, and a computer room. We offer transportation to and from school and provide nutritious, well-balanced hot lunches, snacks, milk, and 100% juice. We also offer discounts for families with multiple children enrolled and accept assistance from ODJFS.

TLC Preschool &

Child Care

The TLC P Before and After School Program offers area parents an alternative for before and after school children. We offer a curriculum with a strong Christian emphasis. Children are given time to complete their homework. Children without homework use the quiet time to read books. TLC has a library equipped with books for every age group. Northview and Bigelow Hills Schools send a bus to the Center to pick the children up in the mornings and drop them off in the afternoons, as does Liberty Benton. TLC will transport children to Van Buren and Faith Academy for additional costs.

TLC All Day Care

TLC provides all day care for children ages three and up, year round. All children registered are welcome to stay all day during the summer, during school delays, and during school cancellations. Our all day program uses the Bible as an aid in teaching the children.

TLC Preschool

TLC offers a quality, Christian preschool that has a variety of options to fit your needs. Preschool is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. You may choose how many days your child attends. Our preschool teachers will work with your child on learning the alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, coordination skills, and many other kindergarten readiness skills.

TLC Toddler Program

TLC offers a toddler program for children eighteen months to three years old.

Trinity Lutheran Church TLC Preschool & Child Care Center will serve young children and parents in our community and surrounding communities by providing a nurturing, safe environment for children to learn, grow, and play. Positive development will be emphasized through the sharing of our Christian beliefs and the understanding of the Good News of the Gospel. It is our hope that the Church and child care program will become a better resource for parents and children to respond to day-by-day events and changes in society and family. In this manner, it is our hope that Trinity Lutheran's congregational life can be a part of each parent's family life.

Goals

Parents and children can expect that the TLC Preschool & Child Care Center will:

1. Provide a safe, healthy, and stimulating Christian environment in which children can grow and learn.
    
2. Complement and support the family unity and provide every opportunity for meaningful involvement for the parents in the education and Christian growth of their children.
    
3. Encourage the children to become involved in the friendly, relaxed, and stimulating environment of the Center under the supervision and guidance of experienced and dedicated staff.
    
4. Be an extension of our ministry of the church by providing for the needs of both the enrolled children and their families.
    
5. Develop a quality program in the area of physical, social, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual development of the enrolled children.
    
6. Be an in-reach to the members of the congregation and an out-reach to the members of the community.
